MUA and Painter
I don’t normally paint landscapes, but I went to an art show at Angell Gallery in Toronto recently and was totally inspired by what I saw.
I just loved the bright colours and drippy paint; I thought it was such a modern, yet post-apocalyptic, approach to a landscape.
So, as a little painting experiment, I painted a landscape inspired by John Kennedy’s gorgeous paintings.
I started an amazing new series of work! I am creating images of traditionally feminine accessories out of torn fashion magazine tears.
I am really excited about the series and about the process of creating art from otherwise-forgotten magazines.

How lucky are these two chicks?
We decided to head down to L.A. to attend Mario Dedivanovic’s (that’s Kim Kardashian’s makeup artist. ahem.) exclusive makeup seminar. I mean, how does Kim K look so damn perfect every time?

Recently, I found myself going back to my roots – drawing. Little did I know I would embark on a new career. Hello world, I am now an illustrator.
I love the simplicity of drawing – how a line can instantaneously turn into a little piece of beautiful art.
I am now officially illustrating for Oxygen magazine on a monthly basis. Keep a look out for the illustrated exercise routines and let me know what you think!

On the last day of shooting at the pool party this year, Paul, Sarah and I teamed up on an ultra-sexy, very edgy, rock and roll beach shoot.
I give Sarah a killer smoky eye and huge hair; Sarah puts on some sexy pantyhose and strikes a pose; Buceta composes an impossibly beautiful shot…AND the rest is history!
This is hands-down one of my favourite shoots of all-time…

What an amazing week! This year 75 (yeah. i know) flew down to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for a week long photoshoot/networking session.
It was incredible to see everyone break off into groups and start shooting. Models and photographers find each other, set a date and go shoot. You could see at least 4 photo shoots happening on our stretch of beach at any given time.
Paul and I worked every single day and we have some incredible shots to show for it.

Sitting around with my best friend, I decided I should be DOING something creative…
So while Hanna was art-ing on her macbook…I grabbed a mini canvas and some paint and doodled this sucker from a photo.
I am completely in love with Make Up Forever’s HD line.
The foundation is like liquid gold. I swear. It makes skin look virtually flawless in photos.
Combine the foundation with Make Up Forever’s primers, powder and HD blush and you’re one step closer to an airbrushed you ;)
I started drawing. Again.
It’s been YEARS since I drew for fun and have totally forgotten how much fun it is to “doodle.”
With this particular sketch, I played around using pencil crayon…
I recently concluded that I haven’t been to enough concerts. I decided to take matters into my own hands and buy tickets to some of the main rock shows coming to Toronto.

I’m also going to see Lady Gaga with the studio gang.
Oh. and I just got tickets for Aerosmith in August.

Here I am…standing in front of the M.E.T in New York.
Holy windy much? lol.
Recently, Paul Buceta and I flew down to New York to shoot for Muscle Mag at the New York Pro show.
WHAT an experience! It was my first time in New York and I instantly fell in love. I am going back there immediately.
Here’s what I got to experience:
the subway, the yellow taxi’s, the MET, Times Square, WTC, Brooklyn, $$$ sushi, a $30 tan, lotsa walking, my heart skipping a beat (LOL)
I LOVED: the art, the buildings (the fire escapes!) the people….
ANYWHO. So on our way home, Paul and I got talkin’ about art and creativity and such and he challenged me to paint a painting inspired by my first trip to New York…..hhhhhhmmmmmmmm. toughie. I generally paint hot chicks.
But I thought it out and started looking for random images of what NYC means to me. After gathering a pile of pics, I decided to melt them all together using photoshop

This oil painting of Lori Fabrizio is one my personal favourites! Its a picture of Lori, taken by Paul Buceta, in the Caribbean. I love the vibrant colours; the blues of the background contrasting with her tan skin.
The image truly captures Lori’s fun and sexy side, making it ideal to inspire a painting for her birthday!

Me and my beautiful ladies…we were shooting with Paul Buceta for the Allure Lingerie catalogue. I was the make-up and hair stylist for all three models, so when I saw them together I couldn’t resist jumping in for a shot. Stunning!

So this was my second year at the Arnold Classic in Columbus, Ohio.
I love meeting people who work in the fitness industry and network!
I did makeup for lots of girls at the Arnold; assisted at a couple of photo shoots, got to walk around the expo and attended some VIP parties…
At the Dymatize VIP party, I met Brock Lesnar of the UFC. I got a pic with him and he signed it for me…it reads, “Valeria, you smell tasty.” I’m hoping he’s referring to my perfume! LMAO!
